Mary Achieng is a final-year Electrical and Electronics Engineering student at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, Kenya, specializing in robotics and artificial intelligence. She contributes to the Inclusive ASR Innovation Sprint at the Centre for Digital Language Inclusion, where she explores accessible speech recognition for Kenyan English and Swahili. Mary’s work bridges robotics, speech technology, and ethical AI, with a focus on inclusive and human-centred design. She is passionate about how AI can foster creative and trustworthy human–machine collaboration in African contexts.
