We’re excited to launch the third AFRICAI Journal Club – in the series where we come together to critically engage with cutting-edge scientific papers in the field of AI and healthcare. On July 23rd, we are pleased to welcome Sadok Gaied, who will present the following paper:
🧾 A. Mehranian and A. J. Reader (2019), “Model-Based Deep Learning PET Image Reconstruction Using Forward-Backward Splitting Expectation Maximisation” DOI: 10.1109/NSS/MIC42101.2019.9059998
Sadok Gaied is a final-year engineering student at INSAT (the National Institute of Applied Science and Technology in Tunisia), specialized in Computer Networks and Telecommunications. Currently, he is undertaking a research internship at IETR–INSA Rennes (the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute at the National Institute of Applied Sciences in France). Previously interned at dB.Sense, a spinoff of the University of Tunis El Manar, specialized in signal processing and AI, focused on audio and acoustic applications.
